New C-HR Coming Soon

** European designed and built C-HR SUV to hit Australian showrooms from $42,990 plus on-roads1 **
** Hybrid-only powertrain line-up delivers improved performance and efficiency **
** New-generation range topped by sporty, stylish GR Sport variant**

Toyota Australia is set to launch the all-new C-HR premium SUV in the first quarter of 2024, bringing with it wholesale improvements in luxury, technology and hybrid performance for the European designed and built small SUV.

The sophisticated new C-HR offers a more premium edge to the small SUV segment, leading the way for cutting-edge design and emotional engagement with a new three-tiered line-up crowned by the dynamically and visually enhanced GR Sport grade.

The new C-HR enters local showrooms priced from $42,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level GXL, with the now mid-spec Koba offered from $49,990 and the flagship GR Sport priced from $54,990.1

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the all-new C-HR would elevate the premium experience for small SUV buyers with its blend of head-turning design and premium appointments.

“The new C-HR brings a new level of premium luxury to the small SUV segment, blending dynamic design and strong technology with a high level of specification and low fuel consumption,” Mr Hanley said.

“The choice of two intelligent hybrid powertrain options combined with the European design and manufacture make the new C-HR more appealing than ever before,” he said.

The new-generation C-HR range will be offered exclusively with hybrid powertrains that combine strong performance and low fuel consumption in a simple and compelling package.

GXL and Koba grades employ a fifth-generation front-drive hybrid system teaming a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a hybrid transaxle for a combined maximum power output of 103kW – nearly 15 per cent more than the outgoing C-HR hybrid.

The petrol engine contributes 72kW/142Nm while the electric motor develops 70kW – a 17kW improvement over the previous generation electric motor, achieved by increasing the number of magnets embedded inside the motor from three to six.

The flagship all-wheel-drive (AWD) GR Sport offers far more than a styling upgrade with a hybrid powertrain that increases combined maximum output to a punchy 145kW.

It is offered exclusively with a larger 2.0-litre engine producing 112kW/188Nm that is combined with a pair of electric motors on the front (83kW) and rear (30kW) axles.

Both powertrains are teamed to a continuously variable transmission to maximise performance and efficiency, and feature a new lithium-ion battery which provides reduced weight and an increased output by 14 per cent compared to its predecessor.

Inside, the new C-HR’s premium nature is clear to see with a completely redesigned cabin aimed at providing driving excitement with a comfortable and refined atmosphere centred around the driver.

All grades come equipped with a 12.3-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay®2 and wired Android Auto™3, satellite and cloud navigation4 and DAB+ digital radio5, along with Toyota Connected Services6 functionality.

GXL variants come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, sports front seats with fabric upholstery and manual adjustment, LED interior lamps, a 7.0-inch colour multi-information display, six-speaker audio system, automatic dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, smart entry & start, panoramic view monitor and a full suite of Toyota Safety Sense active safety technologies7.

The premium Koba grade introduces Bi-LED headlamps with auto-leveling and adaptive high-beam system7, 19-inch alloys, heated front sports seats with fabric/suede upholstery and power driver’s seat adjustment, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, nine-speaker JBL®8 premium audio system, power tailgate, head-up display, wireless smartphone charger9 and ambient colour interior lighting.

Along with the boost in performance, the C-HR GR Sport flagship adds unique 19-inch wheels and exterior features, upgraded brakes, heated steering wheel, GR Sport front seats with synthetic leather/suede upholstery, and GR branded floor mats, steering wheel and aluminium scuff plates.

The GR Sport is also offered with an optional fixed panoramic roof featuring a coating that reduces the ingress of infra-red light, eliminating the need for a conventional sunshade.

Six exterior paint colours are available on the all-new C-HR, as well as six two-tone options for Koba and GR Sport that blend the body colour with a black roof, or the roof and rear of the vehicle for Two-Tone Plus grades.10

The new Sunglow exterior colour is introduced for the first time, a vibrant gold shade available only with the two-tone paint option. Feverish Red is also available only in two-tone guise, with Glacier White and Ink offered as a single colour only.

Full specification details for the all-new C-HR will be detailed when it arrives locally in 2024.
